Margate celebrated America’s 250th birthday and the Fourth of July with a parade on Margate Boulevard.
Family and friend groups lined the street and enjoyed time together. Participating groups included non-profit organizations, businesses, city departments, and candidates running for office.
“This parade is for the community and shows the love of the city. It is a great tradition, and I love to see smiles on people’s faces,” said Vice Mayor Anthony Caggianio.
Rosie Goldman enjoyed the parade. “This was an amazing community event,” she said.
“This was a great parade, and we enjoyed walking in it,” said Kim Cottrell of Scouting America, Troop 229 based in Coconut Creek.
Commissioner Tommy Ruzzano and his family participated. “This was awesome and a great way to celebrate our country’s 250th birthday,” he said.
After the parade, the Margate Community Redevelopment Agency provided hot dogs, chips, and sodas.
