Margate residents can dispose of all their household hazardous waste and old electronics at a free event on Saturday, Sept. 24, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Secure document shredding for up to three standard-size paper boxes will be available.at Oriole Park, 7055 NW 1st Street, in Margate.
The following safety measures will take place:
- Attendees are not to exit their vehicles.
- All items to be disposed of/shredded must be located in the trunk, hatch, or bed of the vehicle (no items will be removed from the vehicle’s cabin).
- Proof of residency is required. For more information, contact the City of Margate’s Department of Environmental & Engineering Services at 954-972-0828. Â

- Auto and boat fluids
- Cleaning supplies
- Compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs)

- Lighter fluid
- Paint
- Pool chemicals
- Propane tanks
- Rechargeable batteries
- Solvents
- Tires (limit 4)
Electronics
- Cell phones
- Chargers
- Computers
- Copiers
- DVD or VCR players
- Fax machines
- Keyboards and mice
- Monitors
- Printers
- Rechargeable batteries
- Scanners
- Televisions
