Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through September 26.
Criminal Mischief
A 37-year-old female was the victim of Criminal Mischief on Sample Road was reported on 09/23/2023.
Battery
A 33-year-old female was the victim of Battery on SW 5 Street was reported on 09/23/2023.
Burglary
A victim of Residential Burglary on NW 66 Avenue was reported on 09/19/23. Unknown individual(s) pried open the rear slider of the residence, which is currently being renovated. Approximately $ 4,000 of appliances and a construction tool were stolen.
A victim of Business Burglary on Colonial Drive was reported on 9/19/2023. Two business laptops, $100 cash, and one tablet were taken from the physical therapy side of the business.
A victim of Burglary and Vehicle Theft on Lillian Lane by five unknown subjects was reported on 09/20/23. Multiple unidentified subjects committed multiple vehicle burglaries and stole a vehicle. The subjects were last seen southbound on Lillian Lane, driving the stolen car.
A victim of Burglary Residence on Brandywine Drive was reported on 09/21/23. The victim was in the process of moving to another location. The victim believes a person identified as Gary Hommel, who has stolen from him before, took $ 8,000 worth of pet grooming supplies and a parrot cage from the residence.
Theft
A victim of Theft of Auto Parts on N State Road 7. A catalytic converter was stolen from a white Toyota Tacoma was reported on 09/25/2023.
Office Depot was the victim of Retail Theft. A female in blue nursing scrubs stole an Epson Eco Tank ET 15000 Printer valued at $599.99. She fled in a gray Nissan Sentra.
A victim of Grand Theft Vehicle on Lakeside Drive. The victim reported the vehicle was stolen from the parking lot.
A 26-year-old female was the victim of Theft – All Other NW 1 Street was reported on 09/25/2023. The total estimated loss was $400.
Domestic/Violation of Protection
A victim of Domestic/Violation of Protection Order on SW 11 St.
The subject arrived at the residence and broke the door down. The subject fled on foot toward SW 12 Street.
Arrests
No arrests were listed here by the Margate Police.
