Margate Police responded to various calls through April 14. Below is a detailed account of the incidents handled by local law enforcement during this period.
Incidents
Baker Act/Marchman Act
Multiple individuals were taken into protective custody under the Baker or Marchman Act between April 8 and April 14. These incidents occurred at locations including 1303 N State Road 7, 6234 NW 1st St, 3143 NW 71st Ave, 890 SW 50th Ave, 1135 Banks Rd, 1426 N State Road 7, and others.
Suspicious Incidents
Suspicious activity was reported at 441 NW 76th Ave, 7600 W Atlantic Blvd, 2450 Banks Rd, and 6805 NW 12th St.
Criminal Mischief
Two incidents were reported—one involving an 81-year-old male victim on W 5th St and another affecting city property at 5600 SW 8th Ct.
Theft
Several thefts occurred, including:
All other thefts: Golf Circle Dr, NW 66th Ave, 100 E Palm Dr (totaling $6,000).
Retail/shoplifting: CVS Pharmacy, Bealls, and Best Buy (losses ranged from $43 to $1,999).
Conveyance burglaries: 5555 W Atlantic Blvd, SW 1st St, and 5850 Margate Blvd.
Fraud
Two victims reported fraud on NW 1st St and NW 22nd Ct, with estimated losses of $2,000 and $3,000.
Battery & Assault
Multiple cases of battery were reported throughout the city, including domestic violence and one involving a person aged 88 on Winfield Blvd. An assault also occurred at 1695 Banks Rd.
Domestic Disturbances (non-criminal)
At least 13 domestic disturbance calls were made citywide at various residences.
Trespassing
Incidents occurred at 5301 W Atlantic Blvd and 2485 N State Road 7.
Traffic and DUI
An arrestable traffic violation (not DUI) was reported at 600 S State Road 7. A DUI arrest was made in Lauderhill at NW 19th St and NW 55th Ave.
Accident & Lost Property
A vehicle crash was reported at 6000 SW 7th St. One individual lost property at 205 S State Road 7.
Death Investigation
A 77-year-old female was the subject of a death investigation on Coral Lake Drive.
Arrests
Jesse Edward Mosely, 28, was arrested for petit theft under $750 on April 9.
Irene Charles, 55, was arrested for battery causing bodily harm (domestic violence) on April 9.
Dwayne Henry, 43, was arrested for driving with a suspended license (third offense) on April 10.
Desiree Vinocur, 60, was arrested for trespassing on April 11.
Joshua Andre Pee, 36, was arrested on a warrant on April 11.
Kalicharran Hingoo, 77, was arrested for domestic battery on April 11.
Ewa Stepien, 66, was arrested for domestic battery on April 11.
Wildjena Ferjuste, 25, and Fritzgeral Ferjuste, 26, were each arrested for domestic battery on April 11.
Krystal Mugaburu, 26, was arrested for dating violence battery on April 11.
Carlos Lara Sanchez, 30, was arrested for DUI (first offense) on April 12 in Lauderhill.
Isabella Vasquez, 24, was arrested for battery causing bodily harm (domestic violence) on April 12.
Kathleen Mary Chaney, 53, was arrested for aggravated battery on a person 65+ on April 13.
Jerry Dureus, 30, was arrested on a warrant on April 13.
Carter Jean Louis, 47, was arrested for trespassing on April 13.
Marlene Etienne, 61, was arrested for domestic battery on April 14.
