The Margate Police Department responded to various incidents and made multiple arrests between December 30 and January 5, 2026.
Crime Incidents
Dollar General, 700 S State Rd 7 – Petit Theft
Theft of merchandise totaling $28.25. Suspect described as a Black female wearing a black shirt and cheetos-themed pajama pants. She fled the plaza in a white Ford SUV with a Georgia tag. Value of items taken: approximately $28.
Lucky City, 5574 W Sample Rd – Burglary Business
Occurred between Dec. 31, 2025, at 1800 hours and Jan. 1, 2026, at 0900 hours. About $200 was removed from the cash register and a tablet was taken. Investigators reported no signs of forced entry. The victim responded to the scene and desired prosecution.
Northwest 51st Terrace – Motor Vehicle Theft
A White Acura Integra was stolen from the driveway of a residence between Jan. 3, 2026 at 2100 hours and Jan. 4, 2026 at 0530 hours.
Northwest 80th Avenue – Vehicle Burglary
Incident occurred overnight Jan. 4 – Jan. 5, 2026. Victim found his black Mercedes with the driver’s door ajar and glove box open. Items taken included a Georgia vehicle registration and a bottle of cologne valued at $20. The vehicle was unlocked at the time. Victim desired prosecution.
King Storage USA, 5600 NW 31st Street – Burglary Conveyance
After regaining access to a storage unit, victims noticed numerous items missing, including a Taurus 9mm Generation 2 handgun (no serial number available), sofa, mattress, two televisions, shoes, a watch, and a bracelet. Total estimated loss: $15,532. No forced-entry signs were reported. Victims desired prosecution.
Public Storage, 5150 W Copans Rd – Burglary Conveyance
Video surveillance showed a discolored white van arriving near 0800 hours. A male wearing a long grey T-shirt and bucket hat entered the storage closet and removed three large sealed boxes with an estimated value of $1,500. Victim desired prosecution.
Pinewalk Dr N – Domestic Battery
Nicole Fijalkowski, White female (03/04/88) was accused of domestic battery after a disturbance at the residence. Report noted no visible injuries to the victim.
Northwest 76th Avenue – Felony Battery on Victim 65 or Older
Suspect Amor Boothe, Black male (10/04/06) allegedly threw bleach water on the victim and choked him. The victim was transported; no visible injuries were documented. Prosecution desired.
Northwest 51st Terrace – Domestic Battery
Melissa Brook Correa, Hispanic female (DOB 04/16/98) elbowed the victim in the mouth causing a busted lip and threw an unknown object resulting in a small laceration to the top of his head. Prosecution desired; suspect placed into custody.
Arrests
Retail Theft Arrest – Tri County Liquor Store, 5817 Margate Blvd
Marcus Fowles Jr., male (11/02/2000) walked out with a bottle of liquor and soda totaling $44.92. He was taken into custody and transported to BSO Jail. Prosecution desired.
Capias / Warrant Arrest – 4800 W Atlantic Blvd
Jonathan Jamal Richardson (DOB 12/04/2003) was arrested after a traffic stop revealed an active warrant for firing a weapon in public and possession of a firearm. He was transported to the BSO Main Jail with no bond.
DWLS (3rd or Subsequent) & Attached Tag Not Assigned Arrest – 6600 W Atlantic Blvd
Jonathan Raymond, male (12/10/95) was arrested for driving while license suspended, third or subsequent offense, and using a tag not assigned. Subject transported to BSO Jail.
Time to Care Daycare Burglary Arrest – 6201 W Atlantic Blvd
Christopher Brown, male (12/26/81) broke into the business by breaking a window on the southwest side of the building. Brown was located inside the building and apprehended, victim responded and desired prosecution. Transported to BSO Jail.
Walmart Theft Arrest
Randy Gotrace, male (06/02/00) was arrested for stealing clothing items valued at $91.94. He was transported to BSO Jail and prosecution desired.
