A man who chased a woman with a gun in Coconut Creek has been arrested by authorities in Virginia, police said Tuesday.
Justin Booker, 24, of Fort Eustis, Virginia, carried out the brazen daytime assault while pursuing the woman on April 30 in the 6100 block of North State Road 7, shortly before 6:50 a.m., according to Coconut Creek Police.
Booker had already driven away from the crime scene when officers arrived, police said. No shots were fired, and no one was hurt. The victim and Booker knew one another, according to police.
Law enforcement in Virginia arrested Booker on May 2 after Coconut Creek Police obtained a charge of aggravated assault with a firearm against him. Police said he would be extradited to Broward County to face the felony charge.
Booker was being held without bond Wednesday in a Virginia jail facility.
