I love the Woodlands and moved here because I love our home and this fantastic neighborhood. It’s so beautiful here with all the lush trees and open spaces. Of course, the beautiful golf courses make this community even more appealing if you love the outdoors like myself.
What I don’t understand is how badly neglected our community is outside our neighborhood. Just take a drive down Commercial towards the Turnpike and back. If you really look, you’ll notice how this part of Tamarac has been forgotten by the city. Unlike the west part of Tamarac, the east part has been neglected and has no landscaping or any type of beautification so it reflects the beauty of the rest of the city or any type of city around here. My clip only shows a portion of the area.
As an appointee with the Metropolitan Planning Organization’s Community Involvement Roundtable, my main focus was getting Broward County Transit and the City of Tamarac to install bus shelters for our citizens, but I soon found out that it was really out of the hands of the MPO CIR.
Shelters are still a work in progress, as the City is now getting a few additional bus shelters soon, however, not enough. It would seem with a mayor and a commissioner living in our community we would have some shelters for our residents. Will keep you posted.
