Coconut Creek High School Girls Volleyball. {CC Athletics}

For the first time in two years, the Coconut Creek High School girl’s volleyball team picked up a win following their dominant performance against Blanche Ely High School on Thursday.
The Cougars won 25-20, 25-9, 25-18 to move to 1-3 this year. Head Coach Sean Leonardo was thrilled with the victory and said this is one of the most competitive teams Coconut Creek has had in several years.
“Feels great to the first win in almost two years, but that’s not our expectation or our standard,” said Coach Leonardo. “There is most definitely many more to come.”
Their team consists of Allyson Stinfile, Jadha Sunderland, Saryah Azor, Jenifer Varon, Rosa Cuellar, Shanine Germain, Janelle Monplaisir, Shyann Palmer, Alyson Gosier, Stephanie Bogan, Nejma Robinson, Thriscell Russell, Juliana Santiago and Amira Robillard.
After winning only two games in the past three seasons, the Cougars played well in their first three matches but fell to Coral Springs High School in four sets. They also dropped matches against Fort Lauderdale High School and Pembroke Pines Charter.
Next, they will return home for a matchup with Plantation High School on Wednesday, March 7, at 4:30 p.m. The Colonels are 0-2 this year with losses against Miramar and Piper but defeated the Cougars in three sets in 2021 for their only win.
