Candidates running for local office in Margate in November must qualify for election this week.
The city’s qualifying period for the November 5, 2024 election runs from noon on Monday, June 10, until noon on Friday, June 14.
Commissioner Anthony Caggiano, the incumbent for seat one, is being challenged by child advocate Nina Culver and Juli Van Der Meulen, an executive recruiter who has served on the Margate planning and zoning committee.
Vice Mayor Arlene Schwartz, the incumbent for seat two on the commission, is being challenged by business owner Robert Reiner.
Mayor Tommy Ruzzano is being challenged for seat 4 by former Margate Fire Department Chief Dan Booker.
