Broward County Animal Care is inviting residents to find their perfect match during its Fall in Love – Empty the Shelters campaign, offering free pet adoptions October 1–15.
In partnership with the Bissell Pet Foundation, the county’s official animal welfare agency will waive adoption fees for all pets at its Fort Lauderdale shelter, located at 2400 SW 42nd Street. Every adopted animal will be vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped. A $25 pet registration fee still applies.
“October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, and there’s no better time to bring home a new best friend,” said Doug Brightwell, director of Broward County Animal Care. “Our Fall in Love campaign gives residents the chance to give shelter pets a new start. With support from the Bissell Pet Foundation, we’re removing barriers so more families can experience the joy and love that come from adopting.”
The event runs daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 15. Residents can preview adoptable dogs and cats at PetAdoptions.Broward.org.
Broward County Animal Care is encouraging the community to take part by adopting, fostering, or supporting the shelter’s lifesaving mission. For more information, visit broward.org/animal or call 954-357-9758.
