Pearla and Frisky {Broward County Animal Care}
Broward County Animal Care is spotlighting two adoptable pets hoping to find loving families this holiday season: Pearla, a 3-year-old American Bulldog mix, and Frisky, a 12-year-old domestic shorthair cat.
Pearla (A2425421), a striking American Bulldog mix with a bright white coat, arrived as a stray from Pompano Beach in May. After more than six months in the shelter, she’s eager for a fresh start. Staff describe her as a sweet and affectionate dog who bonds closely with her person, though she can become anxious when left alone. A patient adopter who can spend ample time with her as she settles into a routine would be ideal.
Pearla does well with some dogs her size, but would thrive most as the “queen of her castle” in a mature household. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to go home with waived adoption fees—requiring only the county’s $25 pet registration tag.
Frisky (A2242359), a petite senior cat with a charming smushed face, is also searching for a new beginning. The 12-year-old domestic shorthair came to Animal Care after her previous owner was hospitalized, with no one able to care for her. Despite managing chronic sniffles caused by rhinitis, Frisky remains loving, loyal, and eager to be someone’s devoted cuddle companion.
Like Pearla, Frisky is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has her adoption fee waived. Adopters pay only the $25 registration fee.
Residents hoping to bring home a new family member this season can meet Pearla, Frisky, and other adoptable pets at Broward County Animal Care, 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale. The shelter is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
All adopted pets leave spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. To view available animals, visit PetAdoptions.Broward.org.
