A new Mahjong Night is coming to Margate, inviting players to enjoy an evening of friendly competition while supporting a new local business.
Hosted by Elizabeth Sabel of Mahjong Learning Table, the event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at 3187 N. State Road 7 in the Broward Meat & Fish Plaza, near the corner of State Road 7 and West Sample Road.
The gathering will be among the first events held at the new venue, which is expected to open in the coming weeks.
Admission is $20 per person, and advance registration is required due to limited space. Mahjong sets and other game materials will be provided.
Players of all skill levels are welcome. Guided play will be available for participants who want additional help or confidence at the table. However, organizers said the gathering is an open-play event and not a lesson for those entirely new to American Mahjong.
Participants should bring their 2026 National Mah Jongg League card.
