Six-year-old Charlotte Uber is among the best hitters and fielders on the ten-and-under Voodoo Dolls softball team.
Because of her skill and talent, she competes with athletes older than her in the Margate Softball League. Uber was recognized as Athlete of the Month during the February 21 Margate Commission meeting. She has performed well, playing first base, shortstop, and pitcher.
Just before the recognition ceremony, Uber’s teammates carried her into the council chambers and cheered her on.
Her father, Chris Uber, has been coaching Charlotte and is impressed with her work ethic and determination. “She is learning how to pitch and is leading the team in runs batted in (RBI). She has played well at first base.”
Chris is impressed with her dedication to softball. “She practices six days a week and is very determined and hardworking,” he said.
