On the May 2 episode of School Duel, Marjory Stoneman Douglas will face Monarch High School, promising a fun evening of academic competition.

The show is scheduled for 8 p.m. and will be broadcast on BECON-TV and streamed live on YouTube.

School Duel is South Florida’s only locally-produced quiz show focusing on high school competition. The program offers a platform for 24 high school teams, comprising three students each, from Broward, Miami-Dade/Palm Beach counties, and various private schools.

These teams engage in 12 fast-paced individual games, demonstrating their knowledge and quick thinking across various subjects.

Lisa Lee, a former HEATV star, hosts the show, bringing her dynamic presence and experience to the forefront of this educational competition. School Duel is not just about quick answers; it’s a comprehensive academic challenge.

The competition format includes four rounds: the First Strike, the Joust, Rapid Action, and the Final Showdown, each designed to test the depth and breadth of the students’ knowledge in a fun and engaging manner.

Prizes for the competitors include voucher meal cards, gift cards, School Duel trophies, and more, courtesy of BrightStar Credit Union and Chick-fil-A, among other sponsors.

As part of the 2024 School Duel season, which runs through May 16, viewers can catch this episode and others every Thursday at 8 p.m., with rebroadcasts on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m.

BECON-TV, the broadcasting platform for School Duel, is accessible to a broad audience across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties via Comcast Cable (channels 488 & 19), DirecTV, DISH Network, and AT&T U-Verse (channel 63).
