A Christmas classic, Tom Hanks’ The Polar Express is the next free drive-in movie in Coconut Creek.
The Polar Express is a 2004 computer-animated fantasy adventure film co-written and directed by Robert Zemeckis, based on the 1985 children’s book of the same name by Chris Van Allsburg, who also served as one of the executive producers.
The movie features the story of a young boy who, on Christmas Eve, sees a mysterious train bound for the North Pole stop outside his window and is invited aboard by its conductor. The boy joins several other children as they embark on a journey to visit Santa Claus and learn the lessons of Christmas.
Held at the Butterfly Lot on Friday, December 16, at 7 p.m., the movie is shown on a three-story screen and features sound and closed captioning. The first 250 children receive a gift, and the first 150 cars get a free bag of popcorn. The event is free to attend, and no pre-registration is required.
