By Sharon Aron Baron

Two beautiful pets seek their forever homes at the Humane Society of Broward County.

Duchess and Sasha have had a rough start in life, but they are ready to find new families who will love and cherish them.

Duchess, ID A655408, is a beautiful girl given up by her family when they lost their home. But this friendly and playful pup is ready to move on and become the queen of someone’s castle.

She is excellent with kids over six and enjoys playing with other dogs. However, she does tend to chase cats, so a home without feline friends may be best. Duchess is also an intelligent pup who knows a few basic commands and is eager to learn more. And if you’re looking for a cuddle buddy, she loves nothing more than snuggling up in bed with her humans.

Sasha is a beautiful 5-year-old cat, ID 666640. Her elderly owner had to move to an assisted living home, and unfortunately, Sasha couldn’t go along. This sweet girl has lived with other cats before but hasn’t been around many people. A quieter home would be best for her, where she can relax and get all the love and attention she deserves.

If you’re interested in giving Duchess or Sasha a forever home, the first step is to complete the pre-adoption application on the Humane Society of Broward County website.

Stop by the Humane Society, open daily at 11 a.m. at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale. to meet these pets in person. If you have any questions, call the Humane Society at 954-989-3977 ext. 6,
