Margate’s 2025 Memorial Day Ceremony. {City of Margate}
The City of Margate will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25 to honor and remember the men and women who died while serving in the United States military.
The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 7044 NW First St. in Margate. According to the city, the event will include patriotic music, a presentation of colors by the Margate Fire Department Honor Guard, a three-volley salute by the Margate Police Department Honor Guard, remarks from city officials, and readings by local elementary school students of their winning Memorial Day essays.
The keynote speaker will be U.S. Army SPC Joseph Nitz, who served as a mechanic in the 101st Airborne and spent more than three years stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany.
Margate Mayor Antonio Arserio said the event serves as an important reminder of the sacrifices made by military service members.
“Memorial Day is a solemn day to remember the men and women who sacrificed everything for our country,” Arserio said. “Because of their love for America, we can enjoy a free country. We must never forget our military heroes for their ultimate sacrifice. It’s an honor to pay tribute to them in Margate.”
Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.
