Margate Fall Festival {City of Margate}
Mayor Arlene Schwartz is looking forward to the upcoming Fall Festival.
“This is an amazing community event, and it brings people from all over South Florida to Margate. We usually have more than 12,000 people at this festival,” said Schwartz.
The festival will take place on Saturday, October 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Margate Sports Complex, located at 1695 Banks Road.
There will be a pre-carved pumpkin contest, pony rides, a costume contest, and a haunted house. The city will provide flannel shirts, blue jeans, and straw for people to make scarecrows, according to Lisa Huriash, public information officer.
The Margate Police Department will host a public “Trunk or Treat” event from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 30, in the parking lot of City Hall. Cars will be decorated with elaborate designs, and city staff will hand out candy to children. The event provides a safe environment for children to receive candy, according to Huriash.
Both events are free.
