Atlantic Blvd Bridge in Margate {Google Maps}

Starting December 4, 2023, the West Atlantic Boulevard bridge in Margate will undergo essential repair work, as announced by the Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division (HBMD) of Broward County.
The project, crucial for maintaining the bridge’s structural integrity, is funded through the gas tax and follows the recommendations from the latest bridge inspection report by the Florida Department of Transportation.
The repair work is scheduled to be completed by February 2024, assuming no unexpected conditions or weather-related delays arise.
During this period, motorists and pedestrians in the area should expect some changes in traffic patterns.
To facilitate the repair work, a single outside lane in both the eastbound and westbound directions of the bridge will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. However, access to driveways and sidewalks in the vicinity will not be affected, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and businesses.
Variable message signs will be strategically placed around the construction area to manage traffic and inform the public. These signs are designed to provide real-time updates and guidance for motorists and pedestrians, helping to minimize any inconvenience caused by the lane closures.
