Mango Thief Has Change of Heart After Seeing Themselves on our Site

By: Sharon Aron Baron

Another crime was solved here in the Woodlands thanks to modern technology and our website –  oh, and an embarrassed resident who saw themselves on video stealing.

This morning, a homeowner came forward and returned some of the loot that was stolen from Ilene and Stuart’s Michelson’s mango tree on Monday.

Not because she had a change of heart either.

It was only because she was caught on video, with her brother who was visiting from Europe, trespassing on a neighbor’s property that prompted her to do the right thing.  She returned 11 out of the estimated 30-40 that were stolen, left $20 and a baby mango tree at the Michelson home, and from their video surveillance today, they said she appeared to be the same woman as the one who was stealing mangos on Monday.

Ilene and her spoke on the phone, and the woman said Ilene’s mango tree extended over the road, which was not true.  The mango tree is close to the home and back into the property. Then she said that she believed the home was vacant, even though there was a car in the driveway to the left and to the right.  Then she said that it was her child that stole them, although both Ilene and Stuart insisted it is clear from the video that the female taking them was an adult.
