E-Bike Rider Arrested After Crashing Into Limo, Ripping Off Mirror

A man was arrested after allegedly crashing his electric bicycle into a private limo and then tearing off its side mirror.

According to Margate Police Department arrest records, Robert Adam Lino, 45, of Deerfield Beach, faces a third-degree felony charge of criminal mischief over $1,000 after, according to the arrest affidavit, officers allege he became violent after crashing his electric bike into a private car near the 6600 block of West Atlantic Boulevard on February 7.

Records show the driver of the vehicle, an employee of Larry’s Private Car & Limo Worldwide, told officers that Lino had been riding his electric bicycle on the sidewalk when he crashed into the side of the company’s private car while attempting to enter the intersection.

After the collision, Lino allegedly stood up and removed the right-side mirror from the vehicle. Surveillance footage and in-car dash cam video corroborate the account, showing Lino pulling the mirror back before it fell onto the pavement, the affidavit states.

The damage forced Larry’s Private Car & Limo Worldwide to take the vehicle out of service. The estimated cost of the mirror alone was $1,472.82.

Lino was arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. Bond was set at $2,500.
