Coconut Creek High School’s Jayda Washington Wins Special Award

Coconut Creek High School’s Jayda Washington had an incredible freshman year and was named the NCWITAIC South Florida Affiliate winner.

The NCWIT Award for AiC honors women in grades 9 through 12 who are active and interested in computing and technology and encourages them to pursue their passions. Award for AiC recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance, and plans for post‑secondary education. To date, nearly 8,600 women have been honored with the Award for AiC.

Jayda was selected based on academic performance, involvement in STEM, coding, former US Rocket and Space Center scholarship recipient, and robotics for the past nine years.

“I am honored to represent my school Coconut Creek HS, the South Florida Community and young ladies in the field STEM. “Putting in the hard work always pays off,” Washington said.
