ClubLink Gives Presentation to Members and Guests

Residents, as well as guests, had a great time.

On Wednesday, the new owners of the Woodlands Country Club, ClubLink Corporation, invited all members and guests to join them for a day of golfing, dining, and hearing about the future of the country club.

Members as well as residents from the Woodlands, enjoyed the fabulous food spread from Executive Chef Neville Kerr. Dining Room Manager Jimmy Kershner was busy at the bar mixing up complimentary drinks along with Catering and Events Consultant, Mindy Silverman. Delicious food and hors d’oeurvres were passed around by the staff from the dining room.

John Finlayson, who heads the Florida Transition Team for ClubLink gave the presentation which gave the audience an overview of ClubLink Corporation and many of the enhancements that they will be makingto the Woodlands Country Club.

Since April, they have been improving the look of the courses. You’ve probably noticed all the activity that has been happening on the greens since they have been the new owners. Not only are they irrigating frequently, but they are also fertilizing and weeding. Soon they will remove and replace the sand on the East Course with a high-performance white sand. This will improve the aesthetic look as well as provide an improvement to the playability of the bunkers.

The greens on the West Course will be resurfaced with champion turf and the shape will be modified to be closer to what they were originally. Putting surfaces will also be improved.

Two bridges will also be replaced on the West Course and the condition of the golf cart fleet will be reviewed and possibly upgraded. Let’s hope for the ones with the GPS system like other courses have.

Staff said they are now measuring the clubhouse to replace the carpet in all the areas and hopefully, they will buff those marble floors to make them look like new again.

The winner of a raffle given by ClubLink was Audrey Reed, whose name was drawn by Larry Torn. She won a three-night stay at Little Harbor Resort plus four rounds of golf in Sun City, Florida.
