Joseph Thomas Oldham, 57, was crossing West Atlantic Boulevard on a bicycle around 9:19 p.m., in an area not designated for crossing, when he was struck by a 2006 GMC Canyon, according to the Margate Police Department.
A preliminary investigation found that the GMC was traveling east on West Atlantic Boulevard, just east of Lakewood Circle, when it struck Oldham, police said.
The GMC’s driver remained at the crash scene and is fully cooperating with law enforcement, police said. The driver’s name was not made public.
