‘Adopt a Sweetheart’ Event Held at the Humane Society of Broward County

Oslo and Snowball.

By Sharon Aron Baron

The Humane Society of Broward County is currently hosting the annual Adopt a Sweetheart event, offering a beacon of hope for many pets awaiting their forever homes.

Two of the many furry faces have captured the hearts of staff and volunteers: Oslo, a two-year-old bundle of joy, and Snowball, a five-year-old feline who embodies the essence of sweetness.

Oslo

Oslo (ID 677199) is not just any pet; he’s a 64-pound beacon of friendliness. With a need for daily exercise and a love for toy-based play, Oslo’s enthusiasm for life is infectious.

Despite a challenging start at the shelter, where he tested positive for heartworms, Oslo has bravely overcome his condition thanks to the dedicated care of the staff veterinarian.

Now in excellent health, he is more ready than ever to find a loving family that will embrace his energetic spirit and treat-motivated eagerness to learn. Oslo’s past may be shrouded in mystery, but his future looks bright with the prospect of adventure and affection from a family willing to explore the world with him.

Snowball

On the softer side is Snowball (ID 677089), whose gentle demeanor and affinity for cuddles make her a favorite among volunteers.

Only five, Snowball represents the quintessential lap cat, offering snuggles and warmth to anyone willing to give her a chance. Snowball’s serene presence and loving nature make her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a furry friend.

Adopt a Sweetheart Event

This year’s Adopt a Sweetheart event is made even more special by the generous contribution of BrightStar Credit Union, which has kindly covered the adoption fees for several of the shelter’s guests, including Oslo and Snowball.

Additionally, the adoption fees for all other pets over one year will be half-priced through Sunday, February 18, making this the perfect time to welcome a new member into your family.

Those interested in meeting Oslo, Snowball, or any other pet needing a loving home are encouraged to complete a pre-adoption application at www.humanebroward.com.

The Humane Society of Broward County, located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312, opens its doors to potential adopters who wish to positively impact these adorable animals’ lives. For further inquiries, the shelter can be reached at 954-989-3977 ext. 6.
