Scam Watch

One of our residents in Section One sent me this letter regarding a potential scam.   Please read and warn your neighbors as well.   The identity and address of the neighbor have been removed.

“Just thought you might want to be aware that there is a SCAM artist working the Woodlands! A man calling himself Anthony xxx, representing Energy Solutions company supposedly working in tandem with FPL.

They call to set-up and appointment to perform an energy survey on the house suggesting they can “qualify” you for tax credits. Its just a reason to get in the door and scam you out of a deposit check for a solar water heater that probably never gets installed.

It felt like he was checking out the house for a “later visit” (robbery). He was very interested in how many doors, windows and sliders we had… and was trying to wander around the house.. That was the extent of the energy survey!

Anyway, we’re filing a police complaint and thought you should know.  I’m a little concerned that they are scoping out the area, watching patterns for future break-ins… or I could just be paranoid.. <G>.

I pray it’s nothing, but just in case its real, we thought you should know!
