Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through Aug. 6, 2022.
Aggravated Battery
On Aug. 8, on Royal Palm Blvd., Torrence Little, 22, struck the first victim with a metal pole several times, resulting in injuries that require surgery. He then struck victim 2, a juvenile, in the head with the metal pole. Little left before police arrival and was later arrested. The second unknown subject pointed a gun at the juvenile.
Burglary Building
Swirl Wine Bistro was the victim of a Burglary Building/structure at 4976 W Atlantic Blvd 08/03/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $50.
Burglary Conveyance
A burglary occurred at 4978 W Atlantic Blvd on 08/03/22. An unknown person broke a lock, entered the storage pod, and removed glassware items. Tot. Est. Loss: $50.
A 55-year-old male was the victim of Burglary Conveyance at 1360 N State Rd 7 on 08/08/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $3,300.
Burglary Residence
A residential burglary was reported on an unspecified date in August on Merrick Ln. The homeowner left for work and found her house flooded when she returned home. She also had various items of jewelry and purses stolen, along with shoes. Tot. Est. Loss: $50,000.
Burglary Vehicle
A female victim’s vehicle was burglarized on NW 1st Street while parked in front of her house on 08/04/2022. An unknown person entered her vehicle and removed a black purse, Versace sunglasses valued at $1,200, and 3 Hermes bracelets valued at $600 each.
Petit Theft
An Amazon Package worth $30 was stolen from a residence in the 3400 block of Pinewalk Drive North on 08/7/22. The suspect is a male who wore black pants, a white shirt, glasses, an army hat, and has a tattoo on his left arm—suspect left in a red Subaru.
Theft of Auto Parts
Several incidents of theft of Auto Parts were reported on Coral Lake Drive on 08/02/2022. Catalytic converters were removed from multiple vehicles: a 2021 Toyota Tacoma parked in a guest space, another car parked near mailboxes, a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, a 2019 Toyota Tundra, a 2008 Toyota Tundra, and a 2014 Toyota Tundra.
Arrests
Nerestant, Mercedes Yamilee, 38, was arrested on Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol charges in the 6600 block of Winfield Blvd on 08/02/2022.
O’Sullivan, Jessica Jean, 45, was arrested on charges of Abuse Child Without Great Bodily Harm in the 6600 block of Winfield Blvd on 08/04/2022.
Jean, Marc, 27, was arrested on charges of Larc-grand Theft Of Firearm at 400 N State Road 7 on 08/06/2022.
Mitchell, Belinda Bernadette, 44, was arrested on charges of Agg Battery W/deadly Weap Domestic Viol on Crestwood Ter on 08/07/2022.
Juarez, Melvin, 31, was arrested on Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 1st Offense charges at 6605 Parkway Dr. S on 08/07/2022.
Sejour, William, 40, was arrested on Warrant charges at 5200 W Copans Rd on 08/08/2022.
Yearby, Ivory Lee, 35, was arrested on Warrant charges at 1840 N State Road 7 on 08/03/2022.
Smith, Jeadine, 29, was arrested on charges of Battery-cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence in the 6500 block of Winfield Blvd on 08/04/2022.
Lackan, Davindra, 54, was arrested on charges of Violation Of lnjunction on Nw 58th Ave on 08/04/2022
Menendez, Lourdes Thais, 63, was arrested on charges of Trespassing-after Warning-structure Or Conveyance at Walmart, 5555 W Atlantic Blvd, on 08/06/2022.
Grant, Christopher Lance, 45, was arrested on charges of Larc-petit Theft 2nd Degree 3rd Subsq Offense at Walmart, 5555 W Atlantic Blvd, on 08/06/2022.
Bailey, Anthony Dion, 51, was arrested on Warrant charges on Copans Rd on 08/06/2022.
