Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through Sept. 5, 2022.
Attempted Murder/Suicide
A Margate woman shot a family member multiple times during a domestic dispute on Sept. 3 before fatally shooting herself. Shanique Jackson, 29, carried out the suicide and attempted murder at the Margate Gardens apartment complex, 5800 Margate Boulevard. The victim was treated for injuries at North Broward and was in stable condition.
Burglary Residence
A Burglary Residence was reported on Winfield Blvd. on 09/04/22. Entry was made through an east rear window which was found shattered. Two flat-screen TVs, a MacBook Pro, toolbox, and a computer monitor were stolen from the residence. The total loss was $2,700.
A 31-year-old female was the victim of Burglary Residence on Nw 80th Ter. on 09/02/2022. Tot. Est. Loss: $35,000.
Criminal Mischief
Oriole Golf Club was the victim of Criminal Mischief at 8000 Margate Blvd. on 08/31/2022.
Theft of Auto Parts
Theft of Auto Parts (Catalytic Converter theft) was reported on NW 65th Terrace on 08/30/2022. The victim left their 2017 Nissan van parked at the location. The following day, they discovered the catalytic converter missing from the vehicle.
On 08/30/2022, the catalytic converter was stolen from a red 2007 Toyota Tundra in the parking lot at 3180 Holiday Springs Blvd.
Theft of Motor Vehicle
The victim parked his 2005 Dodge Caravan at 2601 Rock Island Road on 08/31/2022. He returned to the area to discover the vehicle missing.

Cubel Tardif, Leah Rae, 21, was arrested on charges of Battery/2nd Or subsequent Offense at 1000 N State Road 7 on 09/04/2022.
St. Jusma, Michael Christopher, 23, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol on Park Dr. on 09/05/2022.
Velardo, Andrew Jonathan, 42, was arrested on charges of Veh Theft-grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle at 5200 W Sample Rd. on 09/01/2022.
Davis, Davante, 28, was arrested on charges of Larc-grand Theft 750 Less Than 5k on 08/31/2022.
Rondon Hernandez, Ramon Antonio, 32, was arrested on charges of Possession Of Cocaine at 705 S Sr 7 on 08/31/2022.
Eubanks, Dustin Michael, 33, was arrested on charges of Touch Or Strike/battery/domestic Viol on Sw 11th St. on 08/30/2022.
