Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through Nov. 12, 2022.
Burglary Residence
A Burglary Residence was reported on E River Dr on 11/14/2022. The suspect is a bald man in his 50s, skinny and tall, wearing all black. He entered the victim’s carport and stole her bicycle (GT Aggressor Pro, black/blue in color, approximate value $400 to $500).
Grand Theft Auto
Grand Theft Auto was reported on NW 4th Pl on 11/13/2022. Unknown person(s) stole the victim’s 2018 black Dodge Charger Hellcat.
Stabbing
A stabbing was reported at Masters Billiards, 205 S. SR 7, on 11/13/2022. The victim was stabbed in the chest by a known patron of a bar. The victim left the bar and collapsed near a CVS. He was transported to NBMC with a non-life-threatening stab wound. Perimeter established, K-9 and BSO aviation responded. The victim later declined any further cooperation.
Theft
A Theft occurred at Salvation Army, 320 N State Road 7, on 11/08/2022. A purse was stolen from the inside store.
On 11/10/22, a male was captured on video surveillance stealing merchandise valued at $1,915.00 from Best Buy, 3300 NW 62nd Ave. Best Buy wishes to prosecute.
A Theft was reported at 700 S SR 7 on 11/12/2022. Two men in their 40s took six boxes of Tide Pods valued at $135.
Vehicle Burglary
A Vehicle Burglary was reported at 7932 W Sample Rd on 11/11/22. The rear passenger window was broken. A purse containing serval credit cards, jewelry, and personal items was stolen from the vehicle. No suspect info at this time.
Arrests
Hoppus, Erin Lynn, 30, was arrested on charges of Possession Of Weapon-or Ammo By Convicted Fla Felon on N Sr 7 on 11/14/2022.
Henning, Jason Richard, 39, was arrested on charges of Battery on SW 7th St on 11/11/2022.
Dodorye, Randy, 24, was arrested on charges of Burgl Conveyance on N St Rd 7 on 11/8/2022.
Benaglio, Albert Joseph, 71, was arrested on charges of Larc-grand theft on W Atlantic Blvd on 11/8/2022.
Matthew, Selvin, 46, was arrested on charges of Larc-grand theft 1st degree on NW 15th St on 11/9/2022.
McDonald, Eugene, 28, was arrested on charges of Violation of Probation for a weapon offense on N St Rd 7 on 11/11/2022.
