Police Search For Attempted Robbery Suspects in Coconut Creek

By Kevin Deutsch

Coconut Creek Police are searching for two would-be robbers who tried to steal cash from a 76-year-old Margate man on March 9 and likely committed two other crimes that same day, authorities said.

The attempted robbery happened after the victim withdrew money from an ATM at the Bank of America branch at 4803 Coconut Creek Parkway around 4:45 p.m., police said.

The victim fought off the would-be robbers, who investigators believe are teenagers, police said.

In a Facebook post by the police department, officials said the two suspects are also “porch pirates” who stole a package from the front door of a Coconut Creek home on March 9.

They are also the prime suspects in an attempted car burglary in Coconut Creek the same day, police said.

“If they were this brazen once, our fear is they might try it again…Now we’re fighting to get them IDed so we can charge them,” police said in the Facebook post.

Anyone with information about the suspects’ identities is asked to call Coconut Creek Police at 954-973-6700.
