Pickleball Leagues Now Being Organized by the City of Coconut Creek

By Kevin Maher

The City of Coconut Creek is organizing competitive pickleball leagues for residents and non-residents.

The three leagues are men’s, women’s, and a fixed coed partner league, requiring players to be over 18.

The men’s and women’s leagues will be held at the Community Center’s courts at 1100 Lyons Road, while the coed league will be held at Windmill Park, located at 700 Lyons Road. All three take place outdoors.

A per-player payment of $40 is required to participate for Coconut Creek residents or $50 for non-residents. The league will supply balls, but players must bring their own paddles.

Winners of each league will receive a gift card to a Coconut Creek restaurant that has yet to be chosen.

Men and Women’s League

The men’s league takes place every Monday, September 12 through November 28. The women’s league is on Tuesday, from September 13 through November 29. No games will be held on November 21 and 22.

Game times for both are from 6:30 or 7:30 p.m., and participants will play a maximum of three games per night. The playing format will be a rotational partner round robin, and participant skill levels should vary from beginner to intermediate.

Registration starts August 1 and ends September 10, or until full. Both leagues are limited to 32 participants, with a minimum of 12 participants.

Coed League

The coed league consisting of one female and one male, takes place every Thursday from September 15 through December 8. No games will be held on October 20 and November 24.

Game times will be at 6:30 or 7:30 p.m., and teams will play a maximum of three games per night. The playing format will be a fixed-team round-robin.

Registration begins August 1 and ends September 10, or until full. Space is limited to 12 teams, and the league asks players to identify their teammates during registration.

All players can register online by clicking here or by walk-in at the Community Center or Recreation Complex, located at 4455 Sol Press Blvd.

Credit card payment is the only payment being accepted at this time. Participants must have a WebTrac account before registering online.
