The community came together for a grand Fourth of July Parade held along Margate Boulevard.
Thousands of people lined the parade route, enjoying time with family and friends. The police and fire departments showcased their vehicles while various civic organizations and businesses joined in the festivities.
Local political leaders, including commission members and candidates in upcoming races, also walked the route and spoke with residents.
Tony Careccia, a longtime member of the Margate police department, relished the chance to spend time with his fellow officers and community members.
“I love this parade. It is a beautiful event, showing that we are still a small and close community,” he said.
Commissioner Anthony Caggiano echoed this sentiment, expressing his support for the parade.
“I love it, and I think this is a great parade. It brings a lot of people together, and it is a good community event,” he said, in a sentiment shared by many community members and local leaders.
After the parade, children enjoyed a water slide, and attendees were treated to free hot dogs, sodas, and bags of chips. Families and groups of friends gathered in a covered picnic area for lunch.
