Youth travel baseball team Margate Legacy Elite has its eyes on the prize this year, heading to the Youth World Series in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in June, but needs the community’s help.

Margate Legacy Elite is a youth travel baseball team founded over five years ago with homegrown kids who love the game and love playing on the biggest stages.

“We are a family-oriented program and want to provide opportunities for children who want to play but can’t afford to compete,” said Efrain Figueroa, vice president and co-founder of the team. “Our goal is to instill work ethic, consistency, and confidence in our kids.”

There are two major National youth baseball tournaments each year, one in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and the other in Myrtle Beach.

Last year the 12u boys played against the top 30 teams in the country before exiting the competition in Pigeon Forge. The team is now 13u and is looking to bat for gold medals at Myrtle Beach this year, according to Figueroa.

To make these dreams a reality, the team calls upon local businesses and business owners who can donate or might be interested in sponsorship in the way of a tax-deductible donation.

Beyond these competitions, Margate Legacy Elite will also offer free training for students and coaches in the community.

To learn more, donate, or become a sponsor, follow the team on Facebook or contact Efrain at 954-559-7753 or Efrain3204@gmail.com.
