The City of Margate has announced the launch of its Property Improvement Program (PIP), a new initiative designed to boost the city’s aesthetic appeal and property values. The program offers significant financial incentives for property upgrades, focusing on exterior and structural improvements.
Under PIP, commercial, multi-family, and residential property owners are eligible for a 50% reimbursement grant. Commercial and multi-family properties can receive up to $50,000, while single-family or multi-family homesteaded properties are eligible for up to $10,000 in grants.
Key eligible improvements include exterior painting, landscaping, driveway enhancements, impact-resistant windows and doors, air-conditioning upgrades, and more. The program, however, excludes funding for non-homesteaded individual residences, properties in foreclosure, or those with existing liens or violations.
Applications for the grant will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants must provide necessary documentation, including photo ID, contractor details, and plan approvals.
For more information or to apply, property owners are encouraged to contact the city at pip@margatefl.com or call 954-935-5324.
