Through our joint effort with the Margate Police Department to share updates with residents, this is a summary of Margate’s crime and arrests through January 27, 2024.
Burglary
A victim of an attempted burglary of a residence occurred on Banks Road. Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop in which the vehicle fled and bailed out. A Police K9 search led to the apartment of the subject. The subject fled, while naked, from the rear of 3460 Banks Road, which is located approximately 100 yards from the front door of 3470 Banks Road. The subject began banging on the door. When the victim opened the door, the subject attempted to pull the door open while yelling “let me in”. The victim kicked the subject, causing him to fall away from the door, and the victim was able to close the door, preventing entry. The naked subject was not located during a subsequent Coconut Creek K9 search.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on N State Road 7 on 01/23/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,950.
Theft
Friendly Tires was a victim of Theft-All Other on NW 15 Street on 01/23/2024. The total estimated loss was $700.
Best Buy was a victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on NW 62 Avenue on 01/26/2024. The total estimated loss was $635.
Winn Dixie was a Theft – Retail / Shoplifting victim on W Sample Road on 01/25/2024. The total estimated loss was $400.
Elderly Abuse
A victim of Elderly Abuse /Neglect on Holiday Springs Blvd on 01/25/2024.
Suspicious Incident
A Suspicious Incident on N State Road 7 on 01/23/2024.
A suspicious incident occurred on W Atlantic Blvd on 01/25/2024.
A suspicious incident occurred on Winfield Blvd on 01/26/2024.

A victim of Fraud – All Other on NW 18 Street on 01/26/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,500.
Robbery
A victim of Robbery on N State Road 7 on 01/28/2024. The total estimated loss was $1,000.
Arrests
Brown, Rasheede, Diangelio, 25, was arrested on a charge of Resisting Officer-Fail To Obey Police Or Fire Department on 6500 W Atlantic Blvd on 01/23/2024.
Hoeft, Jeshua, Stephen, 28, was arrested on a charge of Dui Alcohol Or Drugs 1 Offense at 2485 N State Road 7 on 01/25/2024.
Mckennie, Amonte, Dominic, 26, was arrested on a charge of Vehicle Theft-Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle at 1000 N State Road 7 on 01/26/2024.
Johnston, Marcus, James, 22, was arrested on a charge of Battery-Touch Or Strike at 3510 Banks Road on 01/27/2024.
Johnston, Marcus, James, 22, was arrested on a charge of Resist Officer-With Violence at 3051 Banks Road on 01/27/2024.
