A homeless man is facing felony charges after allegedly pulling out a knife and threatening customers and a manager inside a Margate Denny’s.
According to a Margate Police Department arrest report, Robert Roy Henion, 47, was arrested shortly before 2:00 a.m. on September 10 at the restaurant at 650 North State Road 7 following a chaotic scene and 911 calls reporting an armed man threatening customers.
When officers arrived, one officer pointed a Taser at Henion, ordered him to the ground, and placed him in handcuffs, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Witnesses told police Henion entered the restaurant and began pacing aggressively near a table where five people were eating. The affidavit states he appeared agitated and was talking to himself.
After someone at the table told Henion to sit down, he allegedly pulled out a knife, raised it, and pointed it toward the group.
“I am going to kill you all,” Henion allegedly told them, according to the affidavit.
Police said the restaurant manager witnessed the confrontation and ordered Henion to leave while calling 911. Henion allegedly put down the knife, approached the counter, and told the manager to get off the phone before threatening to rape her.
Henion was arrested and transported to the Broward Main Jail. His bond was set at $10,000.
