Campaign Finance Reports: Margate Incumbents Continue Outraising Opponents

With less than two months until election day, the race for Seats 3 and 5 continues driving financial interest in the race.

The most recent campaign finance reports show incumbents Mayor Antonio Arserio and Seat 5 Commissioner Joanne Simone leading Theresa Booker and Nina Culvert in fundraising. However, all four campaigns continue to raise cash in the race to the Nov. 8 finish line.

According to finance reports, Arserio’s campaign for Seat 3 raised an additional $3,050 in August, bringing his total contribution up to $96,311.

Most of these donations came from businesses, including consulting firm LSN Partners, located at 3800 NE 1st Ave. in Miami, which donated $1,000.

His campaign spent an additional $4,283.15, bringing the total expenditures to $18,639.37 for the race.

Most of his August expenditures were on signs and sign materials.

Booker’s campaign brought in an additional $250, bringing her total contributions to $3,696.

The donations came from two individuals in Margate and Coconut Creek, totaling $50 and $200.

Booker’s campaign spent an additional $532.83 in August, bringing the total money spent up to $1,831.27. According to finance reports, these expenses included printing, signs, and service fees.

In the race for Seat 5, Simone raised an additional $5,250, bringing her total donations up to $33,397. She received five donations of $1,000 and one of $250.

More than half of this total came from businesses, including real estate companies Amera Realty and Pavillion LTD, both located at 2900 University Drive in Coral Springs.

Simone’s campaign also received a $250 in-kind donation from En USA Newspaper, located at 9854 NW 1st Manor in Coral Springs.

Culvert’s campaign for Seat 5 had its highest fundraising month to date, bringing in $3,500. Her total monetary contributions to date are $8,983.77.

All her August donations came from five businesses, including the Broward County Police Benevolent Association, which donated $250, and real estate management company Atrium Square, LLC, at 9900 W. Sample Road in Coral Springs, which donated $1,000.

Culvert’s campaign spent an additional $1,314.53 on signage and service fees. The campaign’s total expenditures are $4,118.53, according to the latest finance reports.
